I found this neat book among countless other cool things at Gadabout  just down the street. If you're bored or need to kill about 2-3 hours, you should check it out. You will not be disappointed. 

This book made me think of some possible thesis ideas, despite that being a year away. 

This and that.

So.... I'm not taking thesis this year. BUT I will be making lots of pictures and obviously be taking other classes. I'm taking the time to hopefully have some shows as well as work and possibly do some traveling. But nevertheless, I am so excited for all of you! 

This is a little piece I finished up this morning.

I just found out my chimp was selected for publication in CMYK. Pretty pumped about that!

Leafy Greens

New piece for a collaborative show I'm doing with my sister, Thea, in September. I'm pretty happy with the end result- I tried new things and they worked for the most part. I'll have more paintings to come in the next few weeks!

Today at the mustard shop I was joined by Wil Wong who did an awesome sketch of the booth. Check out his work, it's super neat!

After taking a break from looking at it, I'm okay with how it turned out. Glad to have it over and done with.

Starting another commission. I hope to have it finished in the next couple weeks which might be a bit too ambitious, but so far things are going smoothly. 

These are two portraits I did for fun. Trying to make things faster without sacrificing the quality. I'm pretty happy with how the first one turned out, not so much the second one.

48 Laws of Power

Assignment #4 for Paul's class. We randomly selected 2 laws from the 48 Laws of Power and then illustrated them. Mine were Law 21- 'Play the sucker to catch a sucker- seem dumber than your mark' and Law 24- 'Play the perfect courtier'. The boy is 21 and the man in the mask is 24.

Review Portrait

Guilty Pleasures assignment for Paul's class. Mine was toesocks. Kinda gross, I know. 

Respect, Protect, Fulfill

Second assignment for Paul's class. We had to illustrate the words Respect, Protect and Fulfill. It had to be B&W line art as well as a floating image... I didn't follow that exactly, but I'm pleased with how they turned out. I think the little eggies are my favourite.  

In class painting using only cerulean blue, yellow ochre, cadmium red and white. Cool experiment.
